2020 Arts Festival planning continues

At the last meeting in May we had some new faces and lots of amazing contributions. Decisions were made!

The main decision is that the festival will be held in June as that was the overwhelming result of the recent poll.

Meeting attendees were:

Catherine Doel - artist and rep for The Cheadle Academy
Sue Wardle - Moorland Voices
Pauline Keates - CATS
Jenny Price - CATS
Jamie Evans - Councillor & Team Cheadle
Dee Beardmore - Creative Cheadle
Nicky Day - Creative Cheadle
Cyril Colgate - Chair of Cheadle Arts Forum
Fee Fraser - Arts and member of Cheadle Arts Forum
Andrew Farrington - Methodist Church
and we had lots of apologies from others who intend to come to future meetings.

At the Cheadle Arts Forum the same week it was agreed that the Arts Festival would be constituted as a separate group so I had a word with Support Staffordshire and have been sent the forms. We'll get these completed and sent off so that we can concentrate on the main business of making sure our vision for 2020 event takes shape with the input of all creative groups locally.

We are very pleased to have the support we are being offered by Team Cheadle and the Council in reaching out to local groups to get involved in the next festival.

And in terms of reviewing the venues, we are very pleased that Andrew Farrington has offered us the use of the Methodist Church. Between everyone in the room, a list was drawn up of venues that might like to host an event as part of the programme. We will be making contact with various venues, but if anybody happens to read this and has something to offer please get in touch.

NEXT MEETING 23 JULY.

If you would like to attend please let us know by email or cheadle-arts@henmore.co.uk or pop into No16 cafe and speak to Jane.
