2020 festival dates agreed

At last night's meeting we made a lot of progress. Apart from signing some official forms, we agreed that the 2020 festival will kick off on 5th June. This is what the bare bones of the programme currently looks like, but there is so much more detail to add as groups and venues get involved to add their content and events.

Ticketed Events:
Comedy Night on 5th June - venue to be decided - will kick off the programme.
CATS will run a performance.
Moorland Voices have something up their sleeve.
Fusion in Tean are interested.
There is more in the planning...

High Street Gallery will get underway for 2 weeks, with groups displaying their work in participating shops across town. Art is for Everyone - social artists, schools, tutored groups, therapeutic art groups, etc -  all groups are encouraged to take part in this popular event.

Exhibition 13th - 14th June- individual local artists and makers can have their work included in the weekend exhibition in the Methodist Church. A Private View evening is on the cards, potentially! So that would mean the exhibition is open from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, with set up time before and after.

Art & Makers Markets in the market square - a chance to buy lovely locally-made items from our local artists. Cards, jewellery, prints, baskets... you name it!

Art and Craft demos - there will be a programme of workshops, tutorials, demos. Cheadle has so much to offer! Our friends from Creative Cheadle are putting heads together with us on this aspect of the programme.

Local venues bring on the Arts:
Bands - poetry readings - jugglers - musicians - artists in residence - floral displays - edible art. Are you a venue that could host something? Are you a performing artist that would like to get involved?

Ending with a bang on 4th July! We are timing the Arts Festival to coincide with the Cheadle Carnival so that the programme ends with a bang!

What do you think? If you have any feedback, ideas or contributions please come to our next planning meeting on 10th September, 7pm at No16. If you could let us know you're coming we'll try and put out the right number of chairs!
